Beyond Blood is an open support group that offers an LGBTQ+-affirming therapeutic space for adults who are estranged/distant from their family of origin.
LGBTQ+ Adults who are currently estranged or distant from one or more members of their family for a variety of reasons including boundary violations, abuse, addiction, mental illness, cultural conflict, or irreconcilable relational harm. This can includecomplete cutoff or significant strain in relationships.
What to expect
The group will meet virtually on Wednesdays from 6-7pm.
This group is focused on building support and group processing. This group is not suited for individuals currently looking to reconcile with their family, rather focuses on empowerment, found family, and connections outside of family of origin.
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I am nonbinary and queer identifying and have both professional and lived experience with family estrangement. I have draw from evidence based and trauma focused modalities such as ACT, CBT, and EMDR to provide practical strategies to support your exploration of you experience.
I hope to provide a supportive space for exploring family estrangement and knowing that you are not alone in this experience.
