This therapy group is designed for individuals who are navigating the complex emotions and challenges that arose from the COVID-19 pandemic. If you find yourself grieving not only the loss of loved ones but also the sense of community and safety that once was, this group offers a supportive space for you. It is ideal for those who feel isolated in their ongoing efforts to protect themselves and others, and who are seeking a community to share their experiences, honor their grief and anger, and process the collective loss. This group welcomes anyone experiencing these feelings, regardless of background, to find connection and understanding. Participants will benefit from sharing their unique experiences and gaining insights from others who have faced similar challenges. This group may not be the best fit for those currently experiencing acute crisis or severe mental health episodes, who may benefit more from individual therapy or more intensive support.
What to expect
By participating in this therapy group, clients can expect to gain a deeper understanding of their emotions related to the pandemic, develop some coping strategies for managing grief and anger, and build resilience through shared experiences. Short-term benefits may include feeling less isolated, receiving validation and empathy from peers, and learning practical skills such as mindfulness techniques and stress management. Long-term outcomes might involve enhanced emotional regulation, stronger social connections, and a greater sense of community support. While the journey may involve confronting difficult emotions and experiences, the group provides a safe, supportive space for personal growth, healing, and the development of lasting, meaningful relationships. Clients can anticipate an environment where they are encouraged to share openly, receive constructive feedback, and engage in collaborative problem-solving. The sense of belonging and mutual support within the group can lead to increased self-awareness, improved interpersonal skills, and a more robust support network.
