my Story

Samm Becker (AMFT) integrates Mindfulness and ACT, EMDR training, Narrative Therapy, and Expressive Arts to approach underlying trauma creating symptoms like anxiety, depression, and issues like self-esteem and relationships. She holds certificates in Therapeutic Mindfulness, EMDR training, Trauma-Informed Nonviolent Parenting, Trauma-Informed Behavioral Therapy, and Suicide Prevention. With an MFT in Spiritual and Depth Psychology from Antioch University and an MFA in poetry from SF State plus a background as an English Professor, Samm offers a creative and flexible atmosphere for processing, reflecting, and post-traumatic growth. As a couples therapist, Samm offers support through tough conversations around issues like intimacy, trust, and parenting. With young adults, she supports independence and helps articulate a meaningful future: "I support healing, resilience, and growth in neurodivergent and neurotypical clients alike. My style is gentle, honest, and grounded." When we first meet, I want to understand what brings you here. I move at your pace, offer support between sessions, and accept most insurance plans to make therapy accessible. Using mindfulness-based ACT therapy, EMDR, and creative approaches, I help clients navigate CPTSD, anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, and life transitions.
