my Story
Emily is a licensed marriage and family therapist with over 20 years of experience. She specializes in working with adults, couples, families, children, and adolescents. Known for her open, courageous, and respectful approach, Emily is skilled in Emotionally Focused Therapy, EMDR, and Internal Family Systems. She integrates Systems Theory, Attachment Theory, and social constructs into her practice. Emily holds a Master of Arts in Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling and a PhD in Child and Family Studies. Her expertise spans life transitions, couples therapy, sexuality, spirituality, trauma, parenting, ADHD, grief, diversity issues, sports psychology, nutrition-informed therapy, and LGBTQIA+ concerns. With nearly 20 years of teaching experience, Emily currently serves on the faculty at Keiser University. She is passionate about working with the LGBTQ+ community. In her free time, Emily enjoys outdoor activities, supporting her children's events, attending live music with her wife, and relaxing with her Goldendoodle, Comet. Emily is a clinical member of AAMFT, ICEEFT, ATXEFT, EMDRIA, and co-chairs the Contemporary Relationship Conference.
