my Story
Therapy can feel like an elusive concept, one that supposedly provides a solution for emotional struggles if you do it the “right way.” I believe in an individualized approach to therapy, because there is no “right way”; there is only the way that makes the most sense for you. In this regard, I may use different modalities, but more importantly I will use what I learn about you to help us collaborate effectively on your mental health. I have experience working with a diverse range of people, primarily the LGBTQ+ community, current and former sex workers, and both adolescents and adults. I also provide couples’ counseling. I am trained in LGBTQ-Affirmative CBT and IFS. My specialties include addiction/harm reduction, non-monogamy and relationship anarchy, sex work affirming therapy and ADHD. I am myself diagnosed with ADHD and use my lived experience to inform my work. The couples I work with are generally queer, trans and non-monogamous. I am both warm and understanding, while remaining firm in the work I believe we are meant to do together. I am comfortable easing clients through somatic exercises as much as I am comfortable leading clients through exploring trauma. I believe in truly establishing if we are a good fit before committing to an ongoing therapeutic relationship.
