Have you tried many different approaches to abstinence from substance use but have found you just don't resonate with those frameworks and can't seem to find the way to do recovery for yourself? Whether you’ve felt out of place in other groups, or are still figuring out what recovery looks like for you, this might be the group you've been looking for. Queering Recovery is designed for LGBTQ+ folks who want a recovery community outside the traditional abstinence frameworks. For adults ages 18+, in any stage of substance use/recovery, whether it be contemplating recovery, in long-term recovery or early recovery.
What to expect
This group is informal in tone. Expect warm, open conversation rather than a rigid curriculum, but we do uphold a few shared agreements to help everyone feel safe and supported. We’ll review virtual group etiquette at the start, and we ask that participants come ready to listen, share honestly, and respect each other’s pace. This is a closed group, so you are asked to attend all 8 sessions. You are able to miss one session and have it refunded in full.
Attendance & Refund Policy We ask all participants to prioritize attendance as part of their full commitment to the group experience and to each other. We allow flexibility to refund one of the eight sessions in the case of an emergency, unforeseen circumstance out of your hands, or planned conflict discussed at the beginning of group with the provider.
