my Story

Mary Ann Abosch, MA, LMFT, is a trauma-focused therapist and mindfulness teacher with over 15 years of clinical experience. Her work centers on helping people better understand themselves, their nervous systems, and the patterns that can keep them caught in stress, anxiety, self-criticism, and old survival responses.

Her approach brings together mindfulness, self-compassion, nervous system education, somatic awareness, and evidence-based psychotherapy. Mary Ann is EMDR Certified, an International Mindfulness Teachers Association Certified Mindfulness Teacher, and a graduate of UCLA’s year-long Mindfulness Facilitation Training Program. She has also completed professional training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Mindfulness-Based Relapse Prevention (MBRP) through UC San Diego.

Mary Ann has extensive experience developing and facilitating therapeutic and psychoeducational groups. She especially enjoys creating spaces where people can step out of the thinking mind, become curious about what is happening within them, and learn practical skills for meeting life with greater awareness, compassion, regulation, and choice.

Her groups are warm, experiential, inclusive, and LGBTQIA+ affirming. Rather than approaching healing as something that needs to be forced or “fixed,” Mary Ann helps participants develop a more compassionate relationship with themselves and learn how to work with their minds and bodies rather than against them.
