Who this group is for

The people joining this group feel stuck between enjoying alcohol and worrying it's starting to control their lives. They've tried cutting back on their own, only to fall back into old habits, leaving them frustrated and uncertain. Traditional recovery programs feel too extreme, and they’re tired of feeling isolated or misunderstood in their concerns about drinking. They long for balance—a way to enjoy life without guilt, set healthy boundaries, and regain control of their choices. Above all, they want a supportive, non-judgmental space to explore their relationship with alcohol and make meaningful changes on their own terms.

What to expect

To ensure satisfaction, participants can expect a safe, non-judgmental space where they are free to explore their relationship with alcohol without pressure for total abstinence. The group will focus on mindful and moderate drinking and/or abstinence, helping individuals set personal goals around alcohol use that align with their values. They will gain practical tools to manage cravings and triggers, with an emphasis on building emotional resilience and self-compassion. Through weekly sessions, participants will find support, connection, and guidance from others on a similar path, allowing them to feel understood and empowered. Most importantly, they can expect a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach, ensuring they feel safe and supported as they navigate these changes.

What sets me apart in facilitating this group is my personal and professional connection to the complexities of alcohol use. Growing up in Wisconsin and spending significant time in New Orleans, I’ve seen firsthand how cultural and social drinking norms can deeply affect our relationships with alcohol. I’ve also faced my own need to examine my drinking habits, which gives me a unique perspective and empathy for those seeking moderation or abstinence. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of experience, I combine my clinical expertise with a compassionate, strengths-based approach. I understand both the emotional and practical challenges of navigating alcohol use and am committed to providing a supportive, non-judgmental space for others on this journey.
