Whether you're eagerly awaiting your first adoption placement, seasoned adoptive parents, or an adoptee exploring your roots, this group is your welcoming haven. // Adopting families often encounter distinct experiences and emotions that only others on this journey can truly share and understand. These might include aspects about heritage, cultural connections, and fitting into your extended family and the broader community. For adoptees, identity and biological roots can be profound topics to explore and seek engagement on.

In this retreat, you'll discover a supportive community where you can connect with others who genuinely understand your experiences. We'll guide you through creating meaning through exploring each person’s vantage point and heart. Then we’ll teach and practice effective communication techniques that provide you with the tools necessary to foster affirming conversations about adoption within your family.

One of our primary focuses is equipping you with advanced communication skills for nurturing positive and affirming discussions about adoption within your family. Through a combination of instruction and hands-on practice, you'll learn how to navigate conversations that encompass a wide range of emotions, allowing you to embrace both positive and negative feelings simultaneously.

My background reflects a deep commitment to adoption and the complexities it entails. I hold specialized training and possess a wealth of experience in adoption law, counseling, and family dynamics. My unique blend of knowledge equips me with a comprehensive understanding of both the bureaucratic and emotional facets of adoption. This, in turn, enables me to provide a well-rounded perspective that encompasses the legal framework as well as the psychological and interpersonal dimensions.
What sets my approach apart is its holistic nature. Unlike many adoption support groups that cater exclusively to parents or adoptees, I believe in engaging the entire family unit. For me, the family's collective journey takes precedence. I work with parents, guardians, and children to ensure that all their individual needs and perspectives are taken into account. This inclusive approach ensures a more well-rounded and fulfilling experience for every member of your family.
