Who this group is for

You’ve decided to have a baby, and you’re realizing this will change everything. You’re worried your relationship could transform for the worse. Maybe the baby is already here, and you and your partner feel more distant than ever. You forget to say hello in the morning. You’re fighting more often because you’re tired and patience is wearing thin.

What to expect

Participants can expect an 8-week virtual, discussion-forward EFT group for expecting/new parents focused on deepening connection. Each session, one couple is in the “focus seat” while others observe and reflect. All couples will have the opportunity in the "focus seat".

Couples often find that by witnessing and participating in these live conversations, they naturally become more skilled at:

- Naming the deeper emotions underneath their conflicts.

- Recognizing their negative cycles (for example, pursue–withdraw, criticize–defend).

- Responding in ways that bring them closer instead of pushing them apart.

Between sessions, you’ll have optional reflection questions to explore together if you wish. These are not graded assignments; they’re gentle invitations to notice your patterns and practice new ways of connecting in everyday life.

I’m a licensed MFT with a background in counseling psychology and expressive arts, and I’ve completed the EFT externship along with academic training in narrative approaches. I have 5 years of experience working with couples, 3 years facilitating groups, and 1 year focused on perinatal clients.

What sets this group apart is combining EFT with a narrative, reflecting-team group format specifically for the transition to parenthood. Clients often say I help both partners feel safe and comfortable, especially as they navigate conflict. I created Still Us because I kept seeing perinatal clients (individual and couples) struggle with isolation. This group is designed so people in the same season of life can offer and receive insights, gain new perspectives on their relationship, and build a real sense of community.
