This group is intended to help trans men and transmasculine people relate to themselves and others more authentically, and to deepen their experience of vulnerability, intimacy, and closeness with each other.
Anyone who identifies on the transmasculine spectrum is encouraged to join this mutually supportive space for unpacking the nuances of the this identity and the way masculinity operates within us and around us.
What to expect
The group’s underlying principles are that each of us gets to author our own narrative, and it is possible to be a man with a thoughtful and healthy relationship with one’s masculinity.
The group will co-create the culture and expectations of the space. However, this group aims to be a consistent source of peer support, community, and shared resources. The facilitator will participate as a source of clinical support, but the goal is for group to highlight members' experience as a basis for mutual understanding.
Maxx is a transgender man, whose experience organizing with trans community laid the foundation for his pursuit of social work. What he's learned is that true community has the power to dismantle oppressive forces.
Navigating the transphobia of these times can be a profoundly alienating source of grief. As a clinician, Maxx aims to facilitate healing experiences through trans solidarity, belonging, and care.
