This group is intended for

Individuals aged 19 and up who encompass a range of gender identities from gender expansive, non-binary, genderqueer, genderfluid, or any other non-cisnormative gender identities. Whether you're just starting to explore your gender or have embodied a gender expansive orientation that suits you for years, you're welcome here.

As gender-expansive individuals, you may find yourselves challenging the confines of societal norms, and encountering misunderstandings, microaggressions, or overt discrimination on your life path. Lack of acceptance from family, friends, colleagues, and the general public may further complicate your quest for peace in yourself. Emotional isolation is incredibly common, but here, you don’t have to go this world alone!

You'll find unwavering emotional support as we come together to exchange our triumphs and challenges. Our community offers a compassionate ear and fosters uplifting dialogues. It's common to find discussions on resources related to gender-expansive health, legal rights, and social services, as well as practical advice for navigating the nuances of identity in daily life.

We prioritize the safety and well-being of our members through guidelines and moderation that create a respectful and inclusive atmosphere. Your privacy is of the utmost importance, and confidentiality is upheld within the community.

Occasionally, we invite guest speakers and experts in LGBTQ+ healthcare, law, and social issues to provide insights into the topics that concern us. Here, we empower one another to navigate life's intricate tapestry of identities, finding solace among those who celebrate each other. 🌈

My group facilitation is informed by my own lived experience of being a gender-expansive individual. I understand the nuances of the unique challenges and aspirations of our community firsthand.

Furthermore, my formal training emphasizes intersectional approaches. I recognize that gender expansiveness intersects with various other aspects of identity and experience, including race, religion, and disability. Our approach is deeply inclusive and sensitive to these complex layers of identity, ensuring a safe and supportive space for all.

Throughout my career, I have dedicated myself to working within the world of gender, with a focus on promoting inclusivity and understanding. My journey started with myself but quickly evolved into focusing on the wider gender expansive community. I have actively participated in gender-inclusive advocacy efforts, supporting policy changes and social initiatives that promote acceptance and equal rights for gender-expansive individuals. My professional work has focused on providing support and counseling services, offering a safe and affirming space for individuals exploring their gender identity and expression. Group work is some of the most enjoyable times of my week!
