my Story
I’m a Narrative Therapist and Associate Marriage & Family Therapist at California Family Institute in Costa Mesa. My work sits at the intersection of therapy, culture, and power. I don’t see people as “the problem.” I’m curious about how anger, shutdown, defensiveness, over-functioning, or people-pleasing took root in your life and what they’re trying (and often failing) to protect. I care a lot about helping people see that they’re not broken, they’ve been adapting to some pretty intense expectations.
In my men’s work, I’m especially interested in guys who are trying to be good partners, friends, and humans, but keep finding themselves in the same fights, the same distance, the same shame hangovers after conflict. I try to create spaces that feel honest and brave, but not performative, where you don’t have to “be the expert,” and neither do I. Instead, we slow down, get curious, and experiment with new ways of relating that are more aligned with the kind of life and relationships you actually want.
My hope is that you experience this group as a place where you can bring your whole messy, thoughtful, complicated self, and not have to carry it alone.
